Hi, I'm Ina Xi, an outdoor painter and watercolorist based in Port Orchard, a small town in the Pacific Northwest. With a multi-cultural background and an adventurous spirit, I search for harmony between nature, culture and human elements through my work, striving to capture the fleeting beauty of a cherished moment or place.

Besides traveling and painting, I enjoy teaching drawing and painting workshops that inspire students of all levels to expand their artistic horizon

Another iconic Gig Harbor scene depicting the #skansiebrotherspark on a sunny day. I made up most of the figures on the lawn, since I wanted to evoke a bright summer day vibe at the park and tried applying more saturated colors than I normally use. Latest proud creation - large format painting of Poulsbo after sunset. Thanks to @brycebennettart for your photo inspirations and the permission to use as reference! The reason I'm proud of this one was I pushed the boundary further in terms of abstracting the subject while maintaining their recognizable forms. It was made possible by experimenting with the technique before painting the large piece, but also because I've known the subjects by heart now that I've done many paintings of Poulsbo downtown. This artwork and other recent paintings were delivered to @carriegollergallery before my departure to Shanghai. My pop-up show at @BubzCafe will open in just a few days! It will feature a collection of the best small artworks and study pieces done in 2024. These artworks aren't exhibited in the galleries or my website, but they are instrumental in forming a plan for the final painting. Many of them have a carefree spirit and fleeting beauty that I couldn't reproduce even if I wanted to in the final paintings. That's why I feel they deserve a place to shine! Snow on the shores of Puget Sound is a fleeting sight, but local photographer Karen Shields (@KShieldsPhoto ) managed to capture this precious moment in Poulsbo. A few of my Venice paintings are going to be in the PAWA @PleinAirWashingtonArtists 's annual juried exhibition at @colegallery opening in January. I've always wanted to get involved with the Cole Gallery and the Edmonds art scene. This opportunity sounds perfect so I jumped on it. Doing the Greek Island show sent me digging for more photos of our trip to Greece and I stumbled upon this unpretentious photo from a humble little hotel patio looking out to the Acropolis in the distance. I loved it because it effortlessly tells a story of the old and the new. I remember there was a bit of sadness in the air too in that moment because the trip had come to an end.
